Audio Meditation – Allowing Rest – Sleep meditation

Allowing your mind to rest In this meditation, we will practise
preparing our body and minds for rest. Give yourself a moment to get into a
position that is most comfortable for you. If they are not closed
already, gently close your eyes. Take a moment to feel your whole body in
your bed. Allow your body to relax into your bed. Bring your attention to where you feel the pressure
on your body, and note how the bed is holding you. Gently let go and allow this
surface to support your weight. If it feels more comfortable,
you may also connect to your breath. Following your own unique pattern of breathing. If any thoughts, feelings or physical
sensations are coming to your attention, or distract you from noticing your
body or your breath, let them be there. Simply take note, give them
their space, and allow them to leave. Do not try to push them
away or ignore any discomfort. Instead, acknowledge them, and allow
them to be there. Allow them to leave. If they do not leave,
simply allow them to be. Try to soften around them. This is your experience in this moment. There is no right or wrong way to be. You may find that you have a
strong desire to fall asleep quickly. You may feel that you need to fall
asleep right now in order to be well rested. See those thoughts, and notice
those feelings, and let them be. Don’t hold onto them so tightly. Allow yourself to be here, and acknowledge
that this is your experience in this moment. Allow these difficult thoughts, feelings
or physical sensations to be there. Make some room for them, let them have
their moment before you allow them to leave. Don’t hold onto them so tightly. If you’d
like, you may take a deep breath in. And as you exhale, let
your hold on those thoughts, feelings and sensations
flow out with your breath. Breathing in, and breathing out any tensions. Right now, there is nowhere you need
to be and nothing you need to be doing. Just notice your body in the bed, or perhaps notice your breath, whichever
is more comfortable for you. You may wish to feel how your
body sinks into the bed as you exhale. Allow yourself to rest. Find a place in your body or mind that
feels calm, and focus your attention there. Simply allow your body and mind
to rest and find moments of peace. Simply allowing your body and mind to rest
in that space and finding moments of peace. Simply allowing your body and your mind to rest
in that space and finding moments of peace. Simply allowing your body and mind to rest
in that space and finding moments of peace. Simply allowing your body and your mind to rest
in that space and finding moments of peace. Finding moments of peace. Peace
