Depression: How to reframe negative thinking

Hi! So I’m really happy to share with you that we have a brand new pack coming out of Headspace. It’s called the depression pack. Now if you’re someone who’s experienced prolonged or acute feelings of anger, sadness, really feeling quite stuck in that place, then I think this pack will be really useful. So often I think when we’re depressed we can feel stuck. It’s a very isolating lonely place and it’s very difficult to have any sense of perspective. So this pack really focuses on how you can reframe your perspective of the thoughts and the feelings that arise in the mind. Just because they’ve always arisen in a habitual way in the past doesn’t mean it has to continue in that way. The more you can see those thoughts with a calm clear mind the easier it becomes to let go of them. In letting go of them we start to experience a little bit more spaciousness. So if you think back to — I don’t know if you’ve seen — our blue sky animation that idea that when the clouds disperse you start to experience a blue sky which has always been there. It’s just we’ve forgotten it’s been obscured by those clouds. So I really hope you check this out. I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing you back here soon.

you are awesome. Thank you so much for your work. in just a few months it has truly changed my approach to life and to realise the way my mind used to frame reality produced so much anxiety. I'm finishing my phd thesis now and headspace has helped me a lot. if you answer this message I'll include your name in the acknowledgements section haha 😀

If I got my health class at school on this app with me. Would there be a way that we could have some kind of discount or something?
We're learning about mindfulness and mental health.
A lot of us are having troubles, but won't speak up, so I think that it would be nice if we all had the app and used it in our free time to understand everything better and to release some of the stresses that we are going through.
I'll talk to my teacher on Monday about it and see what she thinks about us getting the app..
Even though the ten days are pretty good..It would probably be better if we actually had a bit more to work with.

I know this is a bit old but it would mean a lot if you replied +headspace, I am a teenager (young) going through what I think is OCD and some other mental health things(I hate to call them issues or problems because then I think there's something wrong with me and I feel alienated) I go through the regular OCD symptoms like intrusive thoughts, negative thinking, obsession, doubtive thinking and a whole lot of other stuff, I am currently using the headspace 10 day trial but instead of having it everyday I prefer to use it whenever I feel stressed or whatever, but I've heard of these additional features and I've been wanting to have them but I am scared to put my Apple ID in (I'm a phone user) is there any way I could possibly extend my trial with a code or something, it would mean a lot and I would be in your gratitude for a long time if you could do this, I also have a laptop incase the codes (if there is any) don't work on phone, thanks again for your time

From a teen going through a rough time/life(this is real bye the way I'm not an adult or anything I swear on my life, I don't want you to think I'm pretending to be a teen, cuz I'm not ,cross my heart hope to die stick a needle in my eye)

But what about the reasons for those thoughts that depress us? Should we just irrationally forget those?

He’s really hot and I knew he was hot cause his voice sounded like a hot person. Like “damn, you sound real good I bet you even look as good as your voice is.” And I was right. Regardless, thank you mysterious handsome bald man your voice is so soothing it brings me out of my panic attacks.
