Dr. Pillai: Guided Meditation To Be In The Now


Now let me come to the mantra. The mantra to stop the Mind from the Yogic
Tradition comes from Patanjali. It is my application of Patanjali to the study
of Now — as far as the mind is concerned. The sounds: “Chitt”, Vritt” can stop
the Mind.Close your eyes, and experience. You say the sound: Chitt, and then the sound:
Vritt. Close your eyes, and then feel the tongue
touching the palate: [Chants] Chitt, Vritt. You should focus attention on the sound, “itt”
”itt” Now you can open your eyes. Patanjali uses it in his first technique of
stopping the mind: “Yogas Chitta Vritti Nirodhah” “Yogas Chitta Vritti Nirodhah”. Patanjali is a very conscious individual. Every syllable he uses, he knows why he is
using it and what it is going to do. So you can stop the Mind and be in The Now.

    Thanks! Will get some cards, write this mantra on them and place them everywhere in my house, car, work, etc. I need a constant reminder to stop these useless thoughts!! And thank you, again, Baba!
