hello and welcome to this guided meditation.
This experience has been produced to help with sleep problems, insomnia and relaxation.
please listen to this audio before or as you go to sleep for best results.
Do not listen to this meditation whilst driving or operating machinery. You find yourself standing in front of an
elevator door at the top of a very high building. There are 300 floors in total to reach the
ground floor. The level you are on is filled with the ambience
of people in a busy working environment, very much like
the busy and possibly stressful day you have had yourself.
It is now time to unwind, relax and get away from this atmosphere.
Straight ahead is a button, which will call the elevator to your floor, I would like you
to press it. With a solid press of the button and the sound
that indicates the elevator is on it’s way, you relax knowing
relief and sleep are only a few minutes away. The elevator has arrived. The doors open and
you walk inside, as you do you relax further. Now you are inside the elevator, press the
ground floor button. With the ding that you hear the doors close and you
relax more. The ding signifies to your body that you are
now ready to start unwinding and untensing. In a moment you will hear a countdown to the
ground floor, you feel calm, clear minded and relaxed as you descend. As the countdown progresses and you begin
to get closer to the ground floor, I would like you to count down along in
your mind. It is ok if you lose track or don’t count at all but as you hear the numbers slowly
get smaller your body finds it’s natural response of restfulness.
It’s not that you have forgotten how to relax, it’s merely a case of bringing that feeling
forward in your mind. Everyone knows how to unwind, it is a natural
want of the mind and body to relax. Slowly but surely your shoulders rest freely
on your upper chest as your mind is in tune with the need for
peace. Going down in the elevator has a subconscious
effect on you and before you know it your upper body, arms and chest
have found their place as they relax into position.
Through the knowing of descending in the elevator, wave after wave of subtle reminders are sent
from your forehead down to your toes to release any tension that
is there. You may occasionally find that a part of your
body may move suddenly as it relaxes, as this happens it releases
your muscles and calms your mind more and more.
The lights that indicate which floor your are presently passing descend and as they
do a sense of relief passes through you and you start to notice your breathing
is easier and deeper, resulting in longer relaxed breaths.
You are approaching the last 20 floors and as you do, you countdown yourself, as you
do your breathing becomes more free with each and every breath.
You have reached the ground floor and the doors have opened.
As the doors opened in front of you the tranquility of a sandy beach can be seen with feet.
Just the sight of this blissful scene sends yet another signal of peace.
You step out of the elevator and onto the sand in front of you.
The doors close behind you as yu feel the sand between your toes, the warm breeze around
your body and the calming sounds of the gentle waves lapping
against the shore. There is a large piece of driftwood in the
middle of this beach, you walk over to it. It is large enough and shaped in such a way
that it can be used as a hammock. Beside the driftwood are a few
plump cushions, you place them inside the almost hammock shaped wood and climb in. As you lay down, the last of any tension in
your muscles melts away from the intense pleasurable thick cushions
you lay upon. Through the whole journey so far your breathing
has relaxed significantly and is encouraged through the sound of
the tide sweeping the shore, as if telling you in it’s own way to relax more.
As your mind drifts into sleep, you scan your body for any tension that is left.
Starting with your toes, they uncurl and rest into a natural position.
Your feet and ankles rotate gently to the place that feels comfortable for them.
As that happens, your legs and knees follow in synchronicity.
All this is being done naturally by yourself as your mind relaxes.
Your mind is the vital key to relaxing your body and it is the things that you concentrate
on that can bring you relaxation.
At this moment, i would like your mind to concentrate on your breathing. No need to
change your breathing pattern, just listen and the more you listen
the more you relax. With relaxation and your breathing on your
mind your hips slump into a restful position, which relaxes
your lower back. Still listening to your own breaths, your
abdomen, upper chest and shoulders descend into bliss.
With the calm, peaceful and dreamy feelings you have your neck and head let go.
Now you are relaxed, your body sends a signal to your jaw, mouth and eyes to enter sleep
as your mind and body are now synchronized for sleep.
As you drift into sleep, you concentrate on your breaths as you hear the gentle tide in
