So, I started talking about meditation in sex because no one else was and so many of my students started coming to me and saying “Emily what’s going on?” I know you mentioned better sex but this is crazy. They were talking about animalistic things going on, and even I had a woman who had her very first orgasm after she learned to meditate. And so the reason why meditation helps with sex is that if your body becomes stressed, it starts producing chemicals like adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline will disallow men from having erections and cortisol will disallow women from having orgasms, which obviously is not good for your sex life. The other cool thing that meditation does is that it increases your mirror neural activity. So mirror neurons are the reason why porn is a multibillion-dollar industry. Mirror neurons are the thing that allows you to receive pleasure from watching someone else have pleasure. So the more mirror nueral activity you have, the more generous you are as a lover, the more pleasure you get from seeing your partner have pleasure. Also, they’re gonna think that you’re psychic because before they even know they have a desire, you’re going to intuit that desire. So it just creates this really beautiful upward spiral of generosity. I’m Emily Fletcher.
