How to Meditate 🙏🏼

Meditation is a habit I’ve been practicing
for the past 2 years. It’s so simple yet can be so difficult at
the same time. But I keep on trying because I strongly believe
in the power of meditation to enhance our quality of life. The purpose of meditation: Clear your mind,
practice being aware of the present moment There are so many benefits to meditation:
physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. I don’t think I can name them all. To start, Meditation can help you calm your
mind, destress, and find inner peace and balance. It can help Improve your focus, metabolism,
sleep. Increase your productivity, creativity, intuition,
happiness. Reduce aging, boost your immune system, and
add incredible value to your overall wellbeing. First, find a quiet space where you’ll be undisturbed. Then, sit cross legged on a cushion or in a chair with your feet flat on the floor
Whatever your sitting position, make sure your back is straight but not too tense.
Imagine a string from your tailbone pulling all the way up your spine to the highest point
of your head. Softly close your eyes
Breathe slowly and deeply. (breathe) Your mind should follow the path of the breath
going in and out of your nose. If you notice yourself drifting off into your
thoughts, simply bring your focus back to your breath
Be the observer of your thoughts, but don’t engage in them. The goal here is to enter the “gap” — the
space where you’re aware of yourself and what’s around you, but your mind is actually
not thinking anything. This awareness is your consciousness. It is your soul. Start small. Try meditating for 5 min a day, and you can
build from there I recommend using a meditation timer: my favorite
is Zenfriend Find a time that works for you that you can
incorporate into your daily routine. I like to meditate for 20 minutes in the morning
after I journal. Creating a daily meditation routine won’t
always be an easy journey. Keep in mind: Patience, perseverance, & nonjudgment Be patient with yourself, for the time will
pass anyway Persevere, even at times you want to give
up Be easy on yourself when your mind wanders.. Don’t judge yourself, just do your best You can try putting on relaxing music or sounds
of nature while you meditate or try following a guided meditation. I highly recommend Headspace – I think it’s
so beautifully designed and so user friendly. If you want to get more advanced, you can
incorporate a mudra or hand pose for your meditation. Here are just a few examples: Palms up to receive Palms down for grounding (Cosmic Mudra / Dhyana Mudra)
This mudra provides calming energy for deep contemplation and reflection. It’s useful for increasing self awareness. (gyan mudra)
This mudra generates knowledge, wisdom, creativity and calmness. You can face your palms up to receive or down
to feel more grounded. (shuni mudra)
This mudra symbolizes patience and discipline, and helps generate a feeling of stability. (surya ravi mudra)
This mudra represents energy and health, and provides a feeling of self confidence and
balance. (buddhi mudra)
This mudra symbolizes communication and openness. It can help strengthen your intuition and
feeling. If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up and comment below if you’ve ever tried meditation. Let me know how it makes you feel. Thanks so for watching! Love you all and namaste

Ok so I always wanted to try this and well …. I got a question.

First let me start by mentioning that I started sitting down touching my thumbs to my index finger.
At first I was ok but then the ankles and back started to hurt. I still did my 5 minutes but after I sat in a chair for another 5 minutes… much better.

So in both cases I had my palm facing up and each time I exhaled I felt a source of heat on my palms and fingers and the way I was sitting it wasn't my own breath warming me up. Not burning simply a light heat source is that normal or did I imagining it.
Though very relaxing with some backround sound of a rainstorm I have to say i'll give it a couple of go's before going to bed from now on.Thanks👍

    12 minutes later
So I just did 10 minutes straight. It went by super fast. Definitely felt heat on my palms again. Also felt my heart beat between my fingers and thumbs. But the scary part now is … I also felt my heart beat in my chest. Now THAT Was funky.lol

I've been practicing meditation on and off for a little over 3 years now without doing much study into it, and I just think it's really funny/ironic that I've been practicing with an upward gyan mudra the entire time without knowing it, especially since I mostly practice meditation to help with anxiety and frustration. It just felt natural to me. Meditation has literally been a life saver for me sometimes.

Honestly I love moments of silence but sometimes it can be creepy silence I hate that it’s just my mind telling me it’s creepy pretty much

May sound weird, but whenever I focus on my breath, it starts to feel too voluntary, and then I start to feel like I'm not breathing enough. I focus too much on breathing the right way than relaxation.

But not in a tropical South East Asian Country! It's 36°C outside so many loud cars or motorcycle passing my house with they're broken exhaust, there's a Motorcycle was infront of my house litterally infront like in my lawn infront of my house, Asian moms screaming to their kids (i live in a village inside of a city that is the capital of a province), and 2 Mosque screaming AALLAH AAAKBAR ELLSEDUE ALLLEH…. (I'm Christian Protestant) there is also loud church bells in the distance, there is also planes screaming across your house and its really hard to find a quiet place and if you want to find a really peaceful, quiet, beutiful place is a Hotel/Resort a Hotel/Resort room (if the Hotel/Resort is in the city) and the real problem is it's just really LOUD and really HOT the most peaceful place i can find is a new beach, a beach, a hotel/resort like Sintesa Peninsula, Sutan Raja, Ibis Hotel, Taman Sari Lagoon/neighborhood, and the best is Santika Hotel, Somewhere

Can meditation just become natural to you overtime just like living whole life doing? Without actually having to take time out to sit and do it?

Sincere question because I'm really struggling. Meditation is to stay focused on the present but what if the present sucks? Between declining health, chronic pain, fear of dying & overall depression my 'present moment' is what I DON'T what to think about. Thank you for any suggestions.

The guests on the meditation podcast episodes have been great in explaining meditation. Another great video to watch on YouTube is The Last Airbender video where Aang opens his 7 chakras.

WOAH!!!! It made me feel like I was spinning around on a chair and then just drifted into outer space. I tried my hardest to focus on the breathing and I did it. This lasted about 25 minutes

Meditation does not help increase your metabolism, no proof behind it. Never heard of a proper way to meditate, I gotta make a video on this.
