Meditation Technique From Bicycling | Radio Sai NEXT

I’m sure that at some point of time or
the other in childhood we all try to learn how to ride a bicycle I am no
exception and so I borrowed a friend’s bicycle and I chose an empty ground
naturally I did not want to fall in the street where everyone could see me so I
began learning I ran alongside the cycle hopped on to
it and tried to pedal it but I lost balance and crashed I kept falling
royally again and again and again I crashed left I crashed right and outch on
the center too – but I was not going to go back to my fifth grade without mastering
the bicycle I kept struggling for a week and a half and there seemed to be no
progress at all but then one morning it just happened. oooo I was riding with
perfect balance and soon started showing off my skill too. It has been 20 years
since today if you wake me up in the middle of the night I can ride the
bicycle without the least practice all the difficulties of learning the bicycle
are long forgotten and I have moved on to other adventures now I am trying to
meditate meditation oh my god it’s so difficult just when I start to
meditate the leg itches the ear twitches a drop of sweat flows down to
the tip of the nose a dog starts barking loudly in the distance oh my god so many
disturbances and I just failed that is when I remember the cycle
learning experience and a new Josh enters my heart
in spite of many failures I tell myself persistence alone can give you balance
buddy just as I used the handlebars of a
bicycle to maintain balance I use the name and form of my chosen god to focus
my mind and achieve balance it’s very simple really imagine the beautiful form
of God and chant the name associated with that form and let the mind move
just between the name and the form you believe the results it worked like magic
for me. Uffff I think I can be a meditation pro now and therefore so can
you

Sairam team RadioSai. It's really superb… Every one could easily connect with this, as we all have both these experiences in life… especially meditation… Yes, persistence alone make us perfect in all our endeavors. The solution here is also so simple and yet the most effective one…And we are all so fortunate to have such a lovely form and name…Thanks a lot. Sairam.

Great video with a profound lesson delivered in a very simple and easy to understand manner! 🙂

Swami has taught us that the best way to meditate is on His form. I would like to share my personal experience here.

I had tuned in to Thursday Live on March 30, 2017 in the night and I listened live to the episode of Vahini Satsang as it was being aired. There, one of the hosts CG Sai Prakash explained how Swami once taught Sunam Gyamtso Sir how to meditate on Him after chiding him saying that what he was doing under the pretext of meditation was all a waste. In fact, first Swami asked him, "Do you have faith in me?" and only then proceeded to tell him how to meditate on His form.

Swami described His own form and said "I have taken this form only for you all. Meditate on this. Start with My beautiful hair. Have you seen any hair which is as beautiful as this? Then come to the fold in My nose. Nowhere else you would have seen it. Then move to My eyes. Have you ever seen any eyes as powerful as Mine? Then come down to My smile. See how sweet like a child it is. Then go down straight to My feet. That is all. Simple meditation! Then again go up starting from My feet.

If a devotee of Lord Shiva has to meditate on His form, how tough it would be! He has to imagine the Ganga, then the crescent moon, then the snake, etc. If he forgets some feature he has to restart. That is why I am asking you to meditate on My form. Have faith in Me and do it.”

As CG kept describing in that episode how Swami described His own form (His hair, the fold in His nose, eyes, etc), I too was looking at a particular photo of Swami on my table and wall and kept going through the same sequence from His hair to the fold on His nose to His eyes, etc. This photo I have is the same as the big photo that is placed on either side in Kulwant Hall — Swami seated on His chair and smiling.

I really felt so happy and in my mind I said, "Yes Swami, Your beauty is matchless. Such a simple but captivating form! It is so easy to meditate on Your form. Indeed You are more beautiful than Krishna and I am so blessed to know You in this birth. Thank You for this blessing!"

The very next morning Swami blessed me with a dream. I remember clearly that I could see Swami physically moving. He came in His chair smiling. He was looking exactly the same way as how He was looking in the photo!

The brother behind wheeled Him and Swami came in front of me. He gave me a few seconds' darshan in the very same pose but in real time. He was smiling so sweetly and I broke down into tears. Then I looked at Him seated on His chair and then I took Padanamaskar.

I was so thrilled with this experience and blessing! I am really grateful to Swami for this blessing!

So one of the best and simplest ways of meditation is to simply go up and down Swami's physical form in our mind's eye. That is my humble opinion.

Thank you Radio Sai team for this wonderful video! 🙂 Kudos to the entire team!
