OSHO: Meditations for Contemporary People

Osho International presents Meditations for Contemporary People You have invented some techniques, meditation techniques, and you say that in India there are a 112 techniques of meditation So how to choose what is useful? They are all useful Just one can go through all 112 techniques which one can go within half an hour because each technique consists only of two lines So just go through them, and any technique that strikes you This is what … will be suitable to me‚ try it. Or if you find two, three techniques then try one by one. Give each a chance. Out of 112 there must be a technique more than one one is absolutely certain, but my experience is that more than one will be applicable to every human being. And the easiest way is just to go through, read them, and any technique that suddenly strikes you that, this is it! give it a try, at least for twenty-one days. If it starts working, then forget everything, other techniques Go on working on it. It does not matter how many techniques you try What matters is that you try one technique to its very end, to its ultimate depth And if you succeed in one technique then every other technique becomes very easy. If the first technique took six months the other techniques may take just one week because now exactly you have reached to the point You know the place, you know the space that meditation creates This is a different path leading to the same space And as you try a few other techniques the time will become less I have tried all 112 techniques After trying a dozen techniques, it becomes so easy at the first time, you reach immediately to the space. And then I have developed my own techniques other than these 112 because I saw that for the modern man there are a few problems which are not covered in those 112 techniques They were written perhaps ten thousand years before a totally different kind of mankind, a different kind of culture, different kind of people. The modern man, the contemporary man, has some differences In ten thousand years it is absolutely necessary. For example, the Dynamic Meditation is not amongst those 112. It is absolutely necessary for the modern man, it may not have been at that time. If people are innocent there is no need for Dynamic Meditation. But if people are repressed, psychologically are carrying a lot of burden then they need catharsis. So Dynamic Meditation is just to help them clean the place. And then they can use any method from the 112 It will not be difficult. If they, right now, directly try, they will fail. I have seen many people trying directly reaching nowhere because they are so full of garbage that first it has to be emptied out. Dynamic Meditation is of immense help. All the techniques that I have developed are for the contemporary man and doing these techniques he will be clean unburdened simple, innocent. Perhaps there will be no need to try those techniques. But just for curiosity’s sake you can try one of the techniques and you will be surprised how quickly you enter into its very innermost core. So first thing is something cathartic, which is absolutely necessary for the contemporary man. And then those silent methods can be used. from: The Last Testament Vol.3 #19 © OSHO International Foundation 1985, 2006 MEDITATION: The First and Last Freedom, THE BOOK OF SECRETS For more information: OSHO is a register trademark of OSHO International Foundation

I was there, saw him speak live. It was a profound experience that is still in me. The earth is whispering to us to wake up. Now is the time for all conscious beings to raise the level of awareness on the planet. Otherwise the earth may decide it does not need humankind as an organic matter on its surface. Why are the honeybees disappearing? Einstein said that if the honeybees disappear, then mankind has only 4 years left. Hmmmmm….that's 2012, not far off.

His philosophy as you call it, is what is creating this sense of peace in him and his relaxing voice. Listen to where his words are pointing in you and you can fall into that same relaxation.
    Blessings to you.

good observation. now what does, or might, that mean? certainly it wasn't good for his eyes. but what more does this suggest? Is he more learned than cultivated, and so is more entranced, bedazzled than present, considering too he was under those hot lights???

He is not there at all. Its the universal consciousness speaking though that body.
He is the same wine in different bottle. Same wine as Buddha, krishnamurty or Gurdjief

It's sad that instead of hearing what he has to say and try to grasp it as deeply as possible, you are judging his blinking, and even counting it. That exactly reflects and confirm what he's talking about, people needing to clean their garbage inside, to become innocent again, to have access to one's core nature. Peace

    Meditation
Meditation has nothing to do with pleasure
Meditation is work, hard work, like paving a road,
or farming land, or building a house

And that, what connects Soul with Body it is Breathing
Come to chakra and work and fill it with Quantum of Light
Perceive the energy of the Quantum of Light
Listen to the waves becoming particles and
    the particles becoming waves
Can we agree with this way to understand the truth?

For those of you wondering about the techniques (112) that he's talking about, it is referring to his book The Book of Secrets.

@shanulk3 he said "Catharsis" means cleansing represed energy. We don't express ourselves naturally & supress anger, sex etc they are form of energy & exist within us as a suppressed energy before meditation release of that energy is needed……………. that is Catharsis

you see, if Rick Santorum meditates, he may end up contradict himself and turn out to be gay… Imagine, that'd be hillarious. Man, if you just allow to change your self and Meditate with Osho's technics… Oh damn you will know what Meditation does to you… "One of the only drugs with no side effects" – Osho, it's not exactly a quote but I think he said it that way.

Reason? Where does that come from? Not from your reaction, involving a four letter word indicating sexual intercourse in an imperative sense, involving the sake Christ, is that reason? Perhaps you find peace in reasoning, framing your emotions within reason. Thanks for sharing this, it shows the illusions and delusions of the human mind. To put it to rest… start meditating.
