Resolve to Evolve – 10 Min Meditation | Yoga With Adriene

– Hello everyone and
welcome to Yoga With Adriene. I’m Adriene and this is Benji
and today we have a special meditation for endings
so hop into something comfy and let’s get started. (gentle music) Alright my beautiful friends, come into a nice
comfortable seat. We’re gonna just try
to drop right in today. Honor your time. But also we’re going to get
started right away because I think that sometimes we think
we have to have everything perfect or everything done
or everything in place or the right
experience to meditate. And the truth is you have the
tools and everything you need to meditate anytime. Within reason because then I
get these YouTube comments, “Well, you wouldn’t
really be able to meditate “if you were sky diving.” But hopefully you
understand what I’m saying. That we don’t really
need a lot to meditate. You just need the
willingness and the commitment, the dedication to practice. So that’s all
we’re gonna do today. I hope that whatever you’re
bringing to the meditation today you can bring it fully. So you don’t have to be
again in the perfect mindset. Just come as you are
and when you’re ready I’ll invite you to sit up nice and tall in whatever
comfortable seat feels good. And then just take a second to
imagine the spine from the real bottom base where your coccyx is all the way up to the tip top of the head, the crown. And again, just a reminder,
you don’t have to have the perfect focused environment. If there’s stuff going on
around you or if you are feeling emotional or if
you’re just like, “Oh, maybe I should
do a workout instead.” Man, just trust. Can you? Like just trust maybe that this,
you choosing this video and getting this far into this video
already is a sign that maybe you need this video. So, close your eyes. And essentially together
we’re making an effort to just accept and agree that
everything is as it should be. Allow your hands to
rest wherever feels good. Maybe gently on the legs. Maybe one hand on a loved one who might be
sitting next to you. Maybe you can rest them in your
lap or you’re also if you’re already feeling fussy in
the back welcome to take this meditation lying on your back. And with the eyes closed,
together we’ll take a deep breath in through the nose and nice and easy
just empty it out through the nose or mouth. And continue to breathe, noticing the quality
of your breath. Whatever it may be. And best you can, allow your
body to come into stillness. So the breath moves,
but we hold still. Then notice where your thoughts
go and return to the action of slowing your breath down. Today’s session
is beginner friendly but it’s also advanced. It will be
different for everyone. Just as your practice of
meditation will be different every single time you show up. Your job is to stick with it. To do your best and
find what feels good. Find your way to good. Just continuing to
slow the breath down. And then taking a moment to
consider our theme. Seeing if you
might be open to honoring endings. Even if an ending is sad or hard or as many of
us practicing here today, it’s the end of the year when this video’s
coming out live. There’s a lot of pressure. Whether it’s for
New Year’s Eve plans, something like that
or maybe a little deeper. Scattered brain with a
desire to set clear intentions. Whatever has brought
you to this practice, whatever ending you are
experiencing the invitation today is to see if
you can honor the ending. Which is huge. Honoring the ending. Holy cow. And it doesn’t mean
that we’re not allowing our feelings of grief or confusion or again,
scatter brained. In fact we do honor those while we consider
what it means to honor the ending but we just
don’t honor those feelings. We see if we can evolve. We resolve to evolve. Honoring the ending. And the last little bit I will
say or share is the beauty of endings is within every ending
is a new beginning so that can be a little motivator for the practice of
honoring an ending. Honoring the ending. Take a deep breath in. Relax your shoulders. And simply
residing with the breath. Slow inhalations. And slow exhalations. Very gently begin to deepen your
breath and bring your awareness back to your body. Back to the room around you or the environment around you and very slowly you
can blink the eyes open. In every ending
is a new beginning. Remember and practice. I love you guys so much. Thank you for your time. Keep breathing. You just did a meditation. So if you’re new to meditation,
keep up the good work and you know I’m gonna be
here to assist you any day, any time around
the clock here on Yoga With Adriene channel. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to
the YouTube channel. It’s the best way to
support this ongoing free yoga. And I appreciate everyone who
continues to share Yoga With Adriene with their friends and
family and people on the street. Love you guys so much. Namaste. (gentle music)

You are my yoga guru and I am very much grateful and thankful to you… Namaste 🙏

Love the good you spread to the world. Super cute seeing your pup tap into your calming energy during this meditation. I got a kick out of seeing Benji sleeping/calm when I blinked my eyes open at the end of this meditation. You've got a subscriber. Looking forward to spending more time on your channel to bring more zen to my life. Namaste.

Hi, Adriene!! My sister and I love following along and doing yoga with you. We both have implanted ICDs and recently realized that we shouldn’t be doing any poses that engage our front chest muscles like downward dog or plank. So, we have a very specific request…would you consider making a video for people with an implanted ICD? Thank you so much!

My daughter invited me to do the Dedicate 30 day yoga practice and I did it every day! I found this meditation this morning for my daily meditation practice – PERFECT! Today is an ending in my Mother Journey as my daughter is moving away for a 6 month job assignment. Realizing she is doing what I raised her to do – find her own life and live it! But it is an ending and beginning for me also, shifting from Mother of a dependent child to Mother of an independent adult, a different experience for me – much deeper than when sending her off to college.
Thank you for this meditation, it is added to my playlist ❤️ (I have one more child currently a freshman in college, so I will use this regularly!)

I thought of your mantra "Find What Feels Good" towards the end of this video. I try to promote Yoga as much as I can to anyone, everyone and more often than not, the people who I actually think may need it. Some do not take my advice and it is clear that they would love it…for that I honour and trust that they may not think that trying something new is their version of finding what feels good!
My version of Find What Feels Good comes in many forms, and a huge pillar in that mix, standing tall and bright, is Yoga, mainly, your Yoga YouTube Practice.
    So, as always, thank you<3

I am going through some anxiety challenges recently and am trying to meditate each night in addition to regular yoga with your videos. I really like your meditation videos more than other meditation videos on youtube – you have such a nice calm energy.

Wow, thank you for this. I just found you and started doing the 30 Days of Yoga. I was scrolling through and watching some of your other videos and came across this one. 2019 has been very unkind. It started in January when we lost our 8 yr old pug to cancer. Several weeks later we lost a best friend to leukemia. He was 39. My dad was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer a few days before. Several weeks after that my father in law entered into hospice and died. My dad passed on April 2nd- it was his 70th birthday. We have one pug left and she has been sick on and off and I am literally waiting for the other foot to drop. I'm so afraid of losing her that I find myself waking in the night to check and see if she's breathing (if I can't see her). I was obviously brought to this meditation by some higher power. Honoring endings….oh my, so powerful. After watching so many loved ones transition in the past few months, I was forced to honor endings. Endings that I was not ready for. This brought it all home and gave me so much relief. Resolve to Evolve – I think this will be my mantra going forward.

Thank you Adriene. When I opened my YouTube app, this was the #1 video on my homepage. And I felt it was a sign for me to do the video.
Shed a few tears when you said, “Honor endings in your life.” Recently, I’ve been going thru some things where people just got up and left me.
The video reminded me that I should acknowledge what happened and move on.

It’s been a hot, stuffy, polluted, busy, hard day in London today. My head was exploding with horrible headache entire day. I could not wait to get home and do one of Adriene’s meditation videos. I chose this one tonight – and oh boy did I escape from this cluttering headache. Relaxed and fell asleep 💤 🙏🏻
