The Heart of Prayer

You know when it comes to prayer, we have
so much instruction in scripture. But I’d like to make a suggestion that has
been helpful for me and I hope it will be helpful for you. When you get out of bed in the morning, before
you get out of bed in the morning. You pray what I pray almost every morning. God, glorify yourself in my life today at
my expense. At the end of the day it’s all about the glory
of God, and it’s not about us. But there’s something else. When you finally do get out of bed, dont’
pray – rather- praise. Read some of the Psalms. I will bless the Lord oh my soul and all that
is within me, bless His holy name. The best way, actually, to begin a day is
to praise God and to give Him glory. Now, after we’ve done that, it’s been my experience
that prayer comes more easily. But praise and worship should always come
first. Make that a priority and a lot of other things
that we hear about prayer will follow. here’s a woman who messed up her life terribly
she had no hope of doing anything significant in the eyes of man. But Jesus met this woman at the well – five
husbands now living with the sixth – and he said: God is looking for worshippers. If you become a worshipper, you’ll honor God. There’s some people who have failed terribly. There’s no way to succeed as we generally
think of success. What we must do is to give God praise and
that glorifies His name. I think, it’s really the heart of prayer.
